The brown trout are fat and healthy, but greedier than ever. This season has started out rather well for me, and I’m excited to try continue trying new water to see what Arizona holds. Fly fishing in Arizona truly can be a rollcoaster ride, with ups and many downs. One thing that I have learned by fly fishing Arizona is to always adapt, try new patterns, and patience, lots of patience.
Sweet! Those are some tanks.
Thanks Kirk. It was a very good day.

Dang, man…great fish! That top one is a pig…and a great kype! Heading to water tomorrow…would be happy with those guys’ grandbabies! 😉
Thanks Zach. Good luck on the water tomorrow.
Ben
love it man.
Thanks Jay.
looks like you’re killing it! Great fish man.
Thanks Brian
nice pigs!! i am in new mexico an have been trying to get over to the white mountains for a while. i take it from the pigs the area you were in was not affected by the fire to bad?
Thanks. Things were looking good from where I was at. Time will tell on some of those other waters.

You’re killing me Ben! I love the scratches on that old beast- I bet he’s spawned quite a few times. Is that a Jesse James fly reel I spy in the picture of the brown in the net?
Thanks Colton. It is a Jesse James reel but that particular fish and reel are my buddy’s.
Ben
Those are some gorgeous browns, nicely done. Between those and those Lahontans I am supremely jealous.
Ben, kind of a late comment on my part, but great looking browns, they look fat! It’s interesting to see that the water is still discolored in the stream you fished by late April, I guess runoff starts later and lasts longer in the Whites…
Iain
Iain,
Thanks for your comment. The browns seemed to winter well and were very fat. The water was only slightly discolored and I’m sure has cleared by now. I’m hoping that we have enough water to make it through the summer. Take care.
