Fall River Flyrod

Fall River Flyrod
Fall River Flyrod paired with an MFC Reel

I received an amazing opportunity through the Outdoor Blogger Network. A few weeks ago, they selected 18 bloggers to host, fish, review and pass on a Fall River Bamboo Flyrod paired with an MFC reel and Rio line. I am the first blogger to have the opportunity to fish it before passing it along to the next guy. In short, this is a beautiful fly rod which I am very much looking forward to fishing. Stay tuned for more to come.

purty darned cool. if you could bring it by, I’d like to see it. I’m assuming these are chinese manufactured blanks? I’ve always been kinda curious about them. pretty sure I picked one up and wiggled it at cabelas one time.

I’ll swing by some night next week. I’m not sure where they are manufactured, but I will ask. It’s a pretty stick to say the least. I’m looking forward to fishing it.

I spoke with the rod builder, Jason Zicha, and the rods are 100% manufactured by him, start to finish. He’s been building rods since ’97. Like I said, I’ll swing by the ponds next week and we’ll see if we can tempt some warm water critters on the fly.

good to hear. I don’t think I wiggled one of his rods at cabela’s – this thing was definitely chinese and the fit and finish were not up to snuff.

Ben, you’re a lucky dog. I figure by the time my turn comes the snow will be falling in the Rockies. It’s a beauty and I’m really looking forward to giving it a try. Have fun with it.

I can assure you that the blank was handcrafted by a single maker here in the fine state of Idaho 🙂

Each bamboo fly rod has about 80 man hours in them when they leave the shop~ each and every hour is put in by Jason Zicha himself as we have no shop elves as of yet.

DOH! Sorry, should have read all the way through this as I see that you’ve already spoken with Jason regarding how he builds our bamboo.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I think you will Ben 🙂

No problem Julie. Your husband was very helpful and gave me tons of good info on the fly rod. It surely is a sweet stick and I was more than a little sad to have to mail it on. Fingers crossed that it comes back to AZ.
