The one problem for me is that here in Kansas “using two-way radios or cell phones in any manner for the purpose of pursuing, chasing,or hunting game animals or furbearing animals,
or to give information concerning the location of big game by radio or mechanical means”. When I hunt in SW Kansas / SE Colorado for scaled quail I have to be very careful as to how U utilize the radios. I’ve heard of hunters getting fines. Thanks again. Really impressed with your website, alot of useful information.

I two similar Motorola radios and have been quite satisfied. I agree with you range comment. The absolute best I can anticipate on range is about 2 miles along most of the streams and rivers I fish. The best tip you have though is the Maxpedition CP-L radio case. I had not found way to attach the radio to my sling pack. There is a radio in the Rio Grande somewhere around South Fork, CO because fell off while busting along bank brush about waist deep in the river. I will have 2 on order quickly for my upcoming trips.

I think it’s a good idea no matter what age you are. I’ll be carrying these into the field with me from now on.

My wife and I are set up with a pair whenever we go out.
