I bet if you do some digging Josh, you’ll come up with a name. The petroglyphs are a big clue.

Thanks Howard. It was a great time and I’m looking forward to making this a yearly thing with them.

Thanks, Josh

Great to hear from you Bill. It is such a beautiful creek and one that I will definitely be back to. I found a couple of those rainbows that you were talking about and look forward to spending more time on them in the future. Seeing the petroglyph panels was amazing, but like you said, it takes a very low life form to ruin those pieces of history. Thanks so much for the kind words.

Thanks! I have been an avid reader of your adventures for some time now. I love your outlook and ethic. You have inspired me to take up fly fishing. I’m still learning, but absolutely enjoy the adventure and getting away from the crowds in my home state. I’ll have to give your furled leaders a try. I spent the weekend with my son fly fishing a couple of streams about 40 miles southeast of you. We did get wet from afternoon thunderstorms, but we were prepared and enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend.

Your trip with your brothers brought back memories since I recently made a couple overnight fly fishing trips there with my youngest son. Fishing for stream-born rainbows is excellent in that creek, especially once you get away from where the trails hit the canyon bottom. I have pictures of that same petroglyph panel from our last trip, simply amazing! I was a bit disappointed though that someone would ruin those with spray paint. One of these days, I’d like to complete a multi-day backpacking and fishing trip through this canyon. Figuring it would take a week or so, require swimming in several places, and a little bit of logistical planning.

Ben, keep up the good work and maybe someday we’ll run into each other in one of these places.

Bill
