Interesting. I got a similar dubbing from a guy named Stu Thompson. He ties a popular pattern called the DDH leach.

Thanks Ben. I checked out his site, then watched the video on youtube of him tying one. What a simple fly, and I love flies like that. I love it that he uses that dubbing for a tail (I hate tying with marabou). I stopped at sportsmans yesterday and picked up a couple of packs, but it looks like I should order a selection from him, since sportsmans only had a few choices. It’s early Sunday morning, and the rest of the family is still sleeping, so I am going to try tying a few up before church. Thanks again for the info.

Not a dumb question at all Brandon. I know Sportsman’s Warehouse carries a selection of simi seal dubbing, but it was originally created by John Rohmer of Arizona Fly Fishing. Here is his link to the simi seal on his website https://www.azflyfishing.net/proshop/home.php?cat=251 and you can order directly from the source and he loads of different colors. I will never tie another wooly bugger again after how easy and effective this stuff is. Enjoy.

I hope this isn’t a dumb question, being that I live in AZ and have heard a lot about these flies…but where do you get the simi seal dubbing? I love tying and fishing a woolly bugger, but this stuff looks better/buggier than plain old chenille.
