Robert,

Great to hear from you and thanks for the kind words. For turkey I use my Remington 870. This year, I was able to use the Carlson Long Beard choke tubes made for the Winchester XR loads. I should have a review up here in another month or so with a bunch of information. Stay tuned.

Ben

Great looking bird! What turkey chokes do you prefer for your 101? Or did you use an Autoloader for this hunt

Shawn, great to hear from you. I typically take feathers but didn’t have the room to get them home. I’ve got a few patterns that i tie with turkey feathers.

Sounds like a great trip. Years ago, my first wild turkey was taken in Missouri. You sure are living the dream!

Still working on my first tom, started trying last year. We’re you able to get any good feathers for fly tying off your bird?

We hunt turkeys near Kirksville, I love that country. You make it look easy! We have been skunked as many years as we scored. Love your blog, keep it up!

Glad you hunted hard and earned your Eastern turkey. They are not as easy as they used to be. Enjoy your site.
