Thanks for the comment. The tadpoles are essentially the same thing as a gurgler. They say that it represents either small baitfish or damsel nymphs on the bottom of the lake, but I have no proof to back it up. Whatever they represent, they seem to work.

They look pretty similar to what I’ve seen called a “gurgler.” I’m assuming it’s basically like a woolly bugger with a foam back tied in… or is there more to it that I can’t see from the pics? Also curious, do the trout in Pyramid Lake actually forage on tadpoles… or is it just a name for the fly?
