Dawn, sorry for the late response, but hope the kingfisher vice is working out for you. Hope all is well.

I keep coming back to the Kingfisher vices. The reviews are always so positive. I like that you can tie such a large range of hook sizes you can use on the vice and that it has the lifetime warranty and the two year warranty. I’m going to purchase my new Kingfisher vice in one week and I can’t wait.

Great to hear Stephan. It is a rock solid vice that I think you’ll be happy with. If you end up tying really small stuff from #22s on down, you might want to invest in the midge jaws too. They come in handy when tying those really small flies. Best of luck with the new vise.

Those Griffins are nice vices though. Alot of guys swear by them. I do have to say after seeing other guys tying on really expensive vices, I am very pleased with the simplicity of the Kingfisher.

When I started tying a couple years ago I bought one of those cheap kits at Cabela’s. It was just that, cheap. So I upgraded to a Griffin 2A that was on clearance at Sportsmans and am very happy. But that Kingfisher you have looks nice…really nice. The only problem is my Griffin will probably hold up for a long time, and it also has a lifetime warranty. So how do I convince my wife I “need” to upgrade? 🙂

I like things simple, functional, and durable. If it meets those requirements I’m game on. I really like like this Kingfisher. It definitely fits the bill.

I recently bought a new lower end vice and I ain’t real happy with it. But lucky I found a really old retro vice that is just amazing. Gotta be from pre 1970, but I don’t know, haven’t done any research on it yet. But it’s nice and simple, just how it should be.
