San Juan Fly Tying: Annelids

Posted on March 7, 2011 by azwanderings

Gearing up for an upcoming trip to the San Juan, I’ve been tying a lot of different bugs that take me out of my comfort zone. The small #22s and #24s really test my patience and eyesight, but have taught me quite a bit. Looking forward to getting out on the water and getting into some fish. Hopefully, these will do the trick…

Are you using Red Vynil D-Rib? Those look tasty, if your using Red Vynil D-Rib I need to get my hands on some, that stuff looks deadly.

      WFF,

Yes sir. It’s Red vinyl D-Rib in size MDG. Stuff is real easy use that even I can make something look halfway decent. Apparently the fish on the Juan go crazy over these. We’ll see…

    Ben,

Make sure you have some chocolate foam back emergers in 22-24. You might also want some in gray.
RS2s with a CDC wing, rabbit leeches, cream larvas and maybe some small flash larvas. Shoot me an e-mail if you need to see what I mentioned here.

Thanks Juan. I got some of the foam backs and I tied a bunch of the RS2s as well. I appreciate your help and have already tied up some of your midge patterns too. Your site rocks and those videos are top notch. Thanks for your help and I will definitely email when (not if) I need help.
